The Simple Professed monks Dom Luis Giuseppe Ma. Mendiola, OSB and Dom Carlos Ma. Dupan, OSB attended the Monastic Course at St. Scholastica’s Center of Spirituality in Tagaytay City last May 18 – June 1, 2024.
The Monastic Courses with its theme, “Entering More Deeply into the Mystery of our Monastic Vocation – Our Life Hidden with Christ, in God,” was organized by the Benedictine Monastic Institute under the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing.
The first Monastic Course was directed by Sister Kathryn Huber, OSB on the topic “Monastic Mindfulness” where she emphasized the exploration of a variety of practices that foster a deeper awareness of God in one’s self, to others and all creation.
At least 46 participants of Sisters, Nuns, Trappistines, Fathers, Trappists and Brothers of the Benedictine and Cistercian Orders attended the said Course.
The second part of the monastic course will be on Aug. 1-15, 2024. This will be facilitated by Rev. Fr. Mauritius Wilde, OSB, Prior of Sant’ Anselmo in Rome with the topic, “Life of St. Benedict, a Model of Contemporary Spiritual Life.”
